The United Kingdom has conducted the inaugural flight test of the SPEAR-3 precision-guided air-to-ground cruise missile. The trial involved a Eurofighter Typhoon jet operated by BAE Systems launching the MBDA UK-developed missile at the Vidsel test range in Sweden, marking a significant milestone in the missile’s development. The test demonstrated successful missile deployment, targeting acquisition, and stable long-range flight after a high-speed, high-altitude release. This marks the first in a series of tests aimed at showcasing the missile’s capabilities within the SPEAR program.
