Diehl Defence of Germany has received a $2.5 billion contract to supply four full IRIS-T air defense systems to Ukraine. The move was announced by Ukraine’s defense leadership as part of its continuing strategic partnership with Berlin.

Each IRIS-T unit includes mobile launchers, radar sensors, and fire-control centers, capable of defending against aircraft, cruise missiles, and UAVs with remarkable precision.

With ranges reaching up to 100 kilometers and altitudes of 65,000 feet, the newly acquired systems are expected to enhance Kyiv’s deterrent force against ongoing Russian missile barrages.
