The United States has awarded Raytheon a $183.7-million contract to provide Patriot air defense system hardware and services for the United Arab Emirates under a foreign military sales agreement. The contract covers procurement of equipment, installation, inspections, logistics support, and program management through 2031. Work will primarily be carried out in Massachusetts. The Patriot system forms a key part of high-end missile defense networks, designed to detect and intercept aircraft, cruise missiles, and tactical ballistic missile threats.
