The US Air Force has formally designated Leidos’ Small Cruise Missile as AGM-190A, recognizing it as a fully operational stand-off precision strike weapon. Known as Black Arrow, the missile weighs about 200 pounds and is engineered for cost-efficient, long-range engagement of high-value targets. Featuring modular hardware and open-system software, the design allows rapid adaptation to changing mission needs, enabling flexible payload integration and software upgrades. Powered by a Pratt & Whitney TJ150-7 turbojet engine, the missile achieves speeds of Mach 0.8 and can operate at altitudes up to 30,000 feet. Recent flight tests from a C-130 aircraft demonstrated a stand-off range exceeding 400 nautical miles, confirming its deep-strike capability.
