DroneShield is developing RfRecon as a compact battlefield RF intelligence solution capable of detecting, identifying, locating, and assessing signals through a single handheld platform. The system incorporates Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Remote ID capabilities, ship and aircraft detection, integrated GNSS, and hardware-based security. Its underlying architecture combines ultra-wideband coverage, direction-finding technology, and signals intelligence capabilities to help operators understand activity within the electromagnetic environment. RfRecon also uses an open architecture and common data formats, allowing it to integrate with existing military networks and other operational systems. The handheld configuration is intended to give personnel access to RF sensing and intelligence capabilities without relying solely on larger fixed or vehicle-mounted equipment. Information collected by the system can potentially contribute to broader battlefield situational awareness through network integration. By bringing several RF detection and intelligence functions together in a portable package, DroneShield aims to provide frontline users with a flexible tool for monitoring and assessing signals in increasingly complex electromagnetic environments.
