Vuzix has secured a new development contract to advance its waveguide-based head-mounted display system for military applications. The project focuses on refining engineering and design to achieve production readiness, building on earlier agreements with the same defence customer. The system enables digital information to be projected directly into the user’s field of view, enhancing situational awareness in operational environments. Vuzix supports development through its New York-based manufacturing facility and has previously collaborated with defence firms including L3Harris Technologies on similar optical systems.
