Canada has announced plans to invest more than 900 million Canadian dollars to expand research and development in drone and airborne defense technologies. The initiative will be led by the National Research Council and includes the creation of a new research and testing facility dedicated to unmanned systems. The project will examine both military and civilian applications such as surveillance, disaster management, and infrastructure monitoring. As part of the program, a Bombardier Global 6500 aircraft built in Canada will be acquired to support advanced flight testing and aerospace research activities.
