The US Army’s decision to award a contract worth up to $465 million to L3Harris Technologies marks a significant milestone in the modernization of battlefield visibility systems. The program, known as the Binocular Night Observation Device (BNOD), spans seven years and focuses on equipping soldiers with next-generation night-vision capabilities. Central to this initiative is the NOVA helmet-mounted system, which incorporates advanced image intensifier technology designed to deliver superior clarity and situational awareness in low-light and adverse weather conditions.
