Gentex Corporation has received a $44.8 million contract to continue supplying advanced HGU-56/P rotary-wing helmet systems for US Army helicopter crews. The five-year agreement includes complete helmet assemblies, Apache-specific configurations, spare components, and modernization kits that will sustain operational readiness throughout the equipment’s service life. The lightweight helmet system integrates ballistic protection with communications equipment, active noise reduction, dual visor assemblies, and compatibility with night vision devices, providing enhanced protection and mission effectiveness for aviation personnel. Optional accessories include facial protection, windblast shields, and low-light operational enhancements. Building upon decades of collaboration with the US Army, the contract ensures continued modernization of critical flight equipment while supporting aviation safety and operational performance across multiple helicopter platforms.
