Rolls-Royce Submarines has begun a major expansion of its Raynesway manufacturing complex to increase nuclear reactor production for British and Australian submarine programs. The enlarged facility will support reactor development for the Royal Navy’s Astute and Dreadnought classes, alongside future SSN-AUKUS submarines destined for Australia. Covering more than 100,000 square meters of additional production and engineering space, the investment reflects growing demand generated by the AUKUS security partnership while strengthening Britain’s long-term nuclear propulsion industrial base and creating thousands of highly skilled engineering and manufacturing jobs.
