The British Army has completed advanced training focused on autonomous military logistics as part of preparations for multinational experimentation during Project Convergence Capstone 6. Soldiers received practical instruction on operating autonomous convoy systems using Rheinmetall’s PATH Autonomous Kit integrated into HX2 military trucks. The autonomous technology combines intelligent navigation software, environmental sensors, vehicle control algorithms, and artificial intelligence to enable vehicles to operate with minimal human intervention while maintaining coordinated convoy formations. Personnel trained across multiple command and supervisory roles, gaining experience in route planning, convoy coordination, emergency response, obstacle avoidance, and complex off-road operations under realistic battlefield conditions. The training supports Project MAIA, which seeks to evaluate how autonomous ground logistics platforms can improve operational mobility, reduce risks to military personnel, and sustain supply operations across contested operational environments. Results from upcoming multinational exercises will help shape the future integration of autonomous logistics systems into British Army operational doctrine.
