South Korea’s Hanwha Aerospace has entered into a strategic partnership with Estonia’s Frankenburg Technologies to co-develop advanced counter-unmanned aircraft systems (C-UAS) for next-generation land platforms. Signed during the World Defense Show 2026 in Riyadh, the agreement outlines a clear division of responsibilities: Frankenburg will develop guided interceptors, launcher architecture, and fire-control software, while Hanwha will integrate the system into its armored vehicle portfolio. The capability is currently being evaluated for inclusion in Hanwha’s next-generation command-and-armored vehicle under development. Officials from both companies highlighted the growing urgency of countering drone swarms and loitering munitions, noting that the partnership enhances battlefield survivability. The collaboration further strengthens expanding Estonia–South Korea defense ties, following Estonia’s acquisition of K239 Chunmoo rocket systems and additional K9 self-propelled howitzers.
