Denmark has announced the delivery of 15,000 extended-range artillery shells to Ukraine, reinforcing Kyiv’s long-range strike capabilities as battlefield requirements continue to evolve. The assistance follows Ukraine’s request to prioritize longer-range ammunition capable of engaging targets beyond 30 kilometers, enabling more effective counter-battery operations while reducing risks to frontline artillery crews. The latest package adds to Denmark’s expanding military support for Ukraine, with total assistance projected to reach nearly $2 billion during 2026. As drone warfare reshapes combat operations, long-range artillery remains a critical capability, allowing Ukrainian forces to strike enemy positions with greater precision while maintaining operational flexibility across contested areas.
