Core Systems has secured a contract to deliver its ATMOS2 rugged tactical computers for the US Army’s Command and Control-Now (C2NOW) initiative, part of the broader Next Generation Command and Control modernization effort. The ATMOS2 platform is designed to serve as the computing backbone for AI-enabled battlefield management systems, tactical data processing, and command-and-control applications at brigade and lower-echelon levels. Built to military standards and compliant with the Modular Open Systems Approach, the compact system integrates high-core-count processors, solid-state storage, graphics processing units, and backup battery support into a lightweight stackable chassis. Compatible with platforms such as the Command Post Computing Environment, Android Tactical Assault Kit, and Palantir applications, the ATMOS2 replaces traditional server systems weighing more than 250 pounds with portable devices weighing between 15 and 35 pounds.
