Raytheon’s Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS) program continues to expand as the US Army accelerates modernization of its integrated air and missile defense network. Designed to replace legacy Patriot radar systems, LTAMDS provides 360-degree threat detection and tracking capability against ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, drones, and advanced aerial threats. Built with active electronically scanned array technology using gallium nitride components, the radar improves target discrimination, survivability, and operational range. The system is expected to become a central component of the Army’s future layered air defense architecture.
