Germany has selected Thales to supply 60 Ground Observer 12 (GO12) short-range battlefield radar systems to enhance reconnaissance and target-detection capabilities for its armed forces. Designed for highly mobile operations, the compact Ku-band radar provides 360-degree surveillance and can detect personnel, vehicles, helicopters, and low-flying threats in all weather conditions. The lightweight system can be rapidly deployed by a small team and integrates seamlessly with digital command networks through standard IP-based communications. The acquisition strengthens Germany’s battlefield awareness and target-acquisition capabilities while supporting modern maneuver warfare requirements.
