Tonbo Imaging’s Avenger S75E is an airborne electro-optical gimbal designed to provide long-range surveillance, reconnaissance, targeting and search-and-rescue capabilities. The compact payload combines daylight imaging with short-wave infrared and mid-wave infrared sensors through a common-aperture optical arrangement. By placing the different imaging channels along a shared optical path, the system is designed to maintain aligned fields of view and consistent target observation across multiple spectral bands. Despite using long focal-length optics, the complete payload is housed within an approximately 18-inch-class gimbal and weighs less than 55 kg. This configuration allows it to be considered for integration on medium- and high-altitude long-endurance UAVs, as well as manned and unmanned fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft. The Avenger S75E uses four-axis precision stabilization, including fibre-optic gyroscope technology, to maintain image stability when the host aircraft is moving or exposed to vibration. A laser rangefinder and laser designator provide additional target-location and laser-assisted engagement capabilities. The multi-sensor architecture allows operators to switch between daylight and thermal imaging according to environmental conditions. An onboard graphics processing unit handles high-definition video processing in real time and supports AI-enabled automatic target recognition and video tracking. These features are intended to reduce operator workload during extended surveillance missions. The S75E is part of Tonbo Imaging’s broader Avenger-S family, which is designed for aircraft, helicopters, UAVs and aerostats conducting border, coastal and high-altitude surveillance. Tonbo says the S75E represents one of its most complex indigenous systems and incorporates proprietary technology in long-range optics, gimbal stabilization, sensor fusion, laser systems and embedded AI processing.
