The US Army is preparing to enhance its High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) by incorporating hypersonic missile technology, through the development of the new Blackbeard Ground Launch (GL) weapon system. This initiative aims to merge the agility and battlefield effectiveness of HIMARS with the next-generation speed and precision of hypersonic weaponry.

The Blackbeard GL missile, being developed by Castelion Corporations, is designed to travel at speeds exceeding Mach 5 and will be equipped with advanced guidance systems for pinpoint strikes. The missile will be integrated directly into existing HIMARS launchers, maximizing the Army’s investment in current infrastructure while expanding its long-range strike capabilities.

Once operational, the system will be capable of engaging heavily fortified or mobile enemy targets, even under complex environmental conditions. The hypersonic upgrade is expected to significantly increase the responsiveness and lethality of US ground forces in future combat scenarios.
