Anduril UK has expanded its role in the British Army’s Project NYX by forming a strategic partnership with GKN Aerospace to accelerate the development of advanced autonomous land systems. Under the new agreement, GKN Aerospace will serve as Anduril’s airframe manufacturing and electrical integration partner, supporting the production of key structural components at its Isle of Wight facility. The collaboration strengthens the industrial backbone behind Project NYX, which is designed to deliver next-generation autonomous platforms for the UK military.
Project NYX is supported by a nationwide supply chain of more than 100 companies, contributing to an estimated 50,000 skilled jobs across the United Kingdom. As part of the partnership, GKN Aerospace will focus on fabricating airframe components and assembling critical electrical systems, while Anduril acts as the lead systems integrator. The program aims to combine cutting-edge robotics, autonomy, and advanced propulsion to field future-ready autonomous vehicles for British Army operations.
Archer Aviation has also joined the industrial team, bringing expertise in hybrid propulsion and electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) technologies. Its involvement will help explore next-generation rotorcraft and propulsion concepts tailored for the British Army’s future Autonomous Collaborative Platform requirements. The expanded industrial framework gives clearer visibility into the companies contributing to Project NYX and highlights the diverse range of technologies being integrated into the ecosystem.
Additional UK firms engaged in the program include Atom Performance Technologies, Flarebright, Olsen Actuators, and Isembard. These companies provide support across propulsion systems, micro-UAV development, actuator technology, embedded electronics, and advanced manufacturing. Their combined work reinforces the scale and ambition of Project NYX, positioning it as one of the UK’s most significant autonomous defense technology initiatives.
