France’s Safran and Turkish drone manufacturer Baykar have signed a cooperation agreement focused on integrating advanced sensors, navigation technologies, and precision-guided weapons into unmanned aerial systems. Under the partnership, Baykar’s Bayraktar TB2 drones will be equipped with Safran’s Euroflir electro-optical targeting system to enhance reconnaissance, surveillance, and targeting performance. The agreement also supports broader industrial collaboration involving operational integration, subsystem development, and international market opportunities. The partnership strengthens Baykar’s access to Western defense technologies while expanding Safran’s role within the rapidly growing tactical drone sector. The deal follows both companies’ recent efforts to broaden guided weapon and autonomous strike capabilities through international defense partnerships and advanced drone integration programs.
