Aryavart Technologies Development Pvt. Ltd. has introduced a new indigenous unmanned aerial vehicle called TEJAS STOL, designed for tactical battlefield operations and long-range surveillance missions. The Bhopal-based startup had previously supplied the ARYA-5001 tactical UAV to the Indian Air Force and is now expanding its unmanned systems portfolio to support India’s growing defence requirements. The TEJAS STOL is a fixed-wing UAV with Short Take-Off and Landing capability, allowing it to operate from compact deployment zones and remote areas without requiring traditional runways. The platform can also be launched directly from vehicles, providing rapid deployment flexibility for frontline military operations. According to the company, the UAV integrates autonomous flight systems and resilient communication architecture designed for electronically contested environments. The drone supports tactical reconnaissance, surveillance, and precision mission roles while offering high-speed performance combined with long-endurance operational capability. The aircraft can carry advanced Electro-Optical and Infrared payloads for intelligence gathering during both day and night operations. Aryavart Technologies stated that the UAV includes Electronic Warfare-resistant communication and navigation systems capable of operating in environments affected by GPS spoofing, jamming, and electronic interference. Such features are increasingly important in modern conflict zones where electronic warfare threats are growing rapidly. The TEJAS STOL’s ability to operate from difficult terrain and remote forward operating locations makes it particularly valuable for border surveillance, counter-insurgency missions, and battlefield intelligence operations. The project also reflects the growing role of Indian private-sector startups in strengthening the country’s indigenous drone ecosystem under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
