Diehl Defence has successfully demonstrated the launch of Spike LR anti-tank guided missiles from its Ziesel uncrewed ground vehicle during a five-day live-fire campaign. The trials included the firing of 17 missiles to validate the platform’s structural durability and operational stability under combat conditions. Conducted in cooperation with Rafael Advanced Defense Systems and EuroSpike GmbH, the tests marked a major milestone only months after the system’s public debut at Enforce Tac 2025. The Ziesel platform features modular configurations for logistics, casualty evacuation, and combat support missions, while its PLATON autonomy kit enables autonomous navigation and reduced vulnerability to electronic warfare. The successful integration highlights growing interest in pairing autonomous ground systems with precision-guided anti-armor weapons for future battlefield operations.
