Rheinmetall has initiated serial production of the Kraken K3 Scout unmanned surface vessel through its joint venture Rheinmetall Kraken GmbH. Built at Blohm+Voss, the platform features autonomous and remote operation modes, open architecture software (Auterion-based), and multi-mission flexibility including surveillance, logistics, and combat roles. With speeds up to 55 knots, a 650 nautical mile range, and 30-day endurance, it offers high operational persistence. Scalable production capacity—from 200 to 1,000 units annually—reflects growing demand for unmanned maritime systems. → This platform represents a shift toward scalable, autonomous naval operations with reduced manpower dependency.
