Flying Wedge Defence and Aerospace is developing a 1-ton MALE variant of its Kaalbhairav UAV, capable of operating at altitudes up to 20,000 feet. The platform features a twin-boom, pusher-propeller design for improved efficiency and stability. It is intended for ISR missions with potential for precision strike roles. The payload capacity supports EO/IR sensors, SAR systems, and communication relays. This development reflects the growing capability of Indian startups to move into advanced UAV segments traditionally dominated by global players like MQ-1 Predator.
