Raytheon has been contracted for $646 million to provide four additional SPY-6(V) radar systems to the US Navy.
The agreement raises the total number of units under contract to 42, with production timelines extending to 2028. The SPY-6 system, available in multiple configurations, offers 360-degree detection of air, sea, and electronic threats.
Assembly takes place at Raytheon’s Andover, Massachusetts facility, a 30,000-square-foot, vertically integrated production site that supports US and allied radar needs.
This highly automated facility allows for non-stop system integration and functional testing.
A separate $536-million radar order was also awarded to Raytheon by the Navy earlier in the month.
