Safran Electronics & Defense announced on the opening day of the Paris Air Show a new international partnership with U.S.-based Trillium Engineering, a specialist in compact, high-performance electro-optical systems (EOS). This collaboration will broaden Safran’s Artis range, adding a diverse selection of stabilized camera turrets from 2 to 25 inches. Trillium’s product line complements Safran’s established expertise in larger gyrostabilized gimbals by offering smaller, lighter solutions ideal for drones, light aircraft, and helicopters.

Both Safran and Trillium are known for developing advanced systems that prioritize compactness, reduced weight, and energy efficiency—key factors for modern airborne platforms. These shared capabilities will boost mission flexibility and operational effectiveness.

Trillium is highly regarded for its lightweight, high-performance electro-optical and infrared gimbals, specifically designed for unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and airborne ISR platforms. Its technologies feature high-definition EO/IR sensors, laser designation, and precision geolocation, enhancing the effectiveness of intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions.

The partnership highlights the shared commitment of both companies to delivering next-generation solutions that meet the evolving demands of defense and security customers worldwide.
