FN America has received a $9.9-million contract to supply additional M240B medium machine guns to the US Army and Navy. The weapons will be manufactured at the company’s facility in South Carolina and continue a long partnership between FN America and the US Department of Defense. The M240B, chambered in 7.62×51 mm NATO ammunition, is widely used by infantry units for sustained suppressive fire and has a maximum effective range of more than 3,700 meters.
