Electro Optic Systems has secured a $42 million contract to supply its Slinger counter-drone system to a Middle Eastern customer. The system is designed as a cost-effective alternative to traditional missile-based defenses, using a 30mm cannon combined with radar and advanced targeting systems. Each engagement is significantly cheaper, making it suitable for sustained operations in conflict zones. The Slinger system is equipped with advanced sensors that allow it to detect and track targets at long distances. It can operate independently or as part of a larger defense network, providing flexibility in deployment. Production will take place in Australia, with deliveries scheduled through 2026. This contract highlights the growing demand for affordable counter-drone solutions in modern warfare.
