Northrop Grumman has integrated Green Hills Software’s INTEGRITY-178 tuMP real-time operating system into its LN-351 Embedded GPS/Inertial Navigation System–Modernization (EGI-M). The system merges inertial navigation with an M-Code GPS receiver, ensuring reliable positioning even in contested or degraded satellite environments. Running on a quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor, the software uses a partitioned architecture that isolates applications for enhanced cybersecurity and flexibility. This allows rapid updates and integration of third-party capabilities. Initial deployments include platforms such as the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye and F-22 Raptor, supporting broader US efforts to strengthen navigation resilience against electronic warfare threats.
