SSS Defence has completed another delivery of its indigenous G72 submachine guns to the Punjab Police, highlighting growing adoption of domestically manufactured small arms by Indian security forces. Chambered in 9×19mm NATO ammunition, the G72 is designed for close-quarter combat and urban operations, featuring modular configurations, ambidextrous controls, and compatibility with tactical accessories such as suppressors and optics. The weapon has also emerged as the lowest bidder for a major National Security Guard procurement program, reflecting India’s broader push toward self-reliance in defense manufacturing under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
