The US Army is developing artificial intelligence models capable of automatically identifying and tracking military targets by using operational datasets. The effort is supported by Sightline Intelligence’s Aided Target Recognition platform, which provides Army personnel with tools to develop, train and assess target-recognition models using military data. The platform includes model-development capabilities and a dedicated training interface intended for government users. By applying these tools to operational datasets, Army teams can build models designed for automated target recognition and tracking. The resulting AI systems could have applications across multiple Army mission areas. Potential uses include missile seekers, launched effects, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, long-range precision fires, and air and missile defense.
