India’s Axiscades Technologies and French defense company Cilas have inked a memorandum of understanding to bring the Helma P high energy laser counter drone system to India._x000D_
The scheme will combine the system with Axiscades’ command and control architecture and its mobile, vehicle-mounted counter-drone platforms._x000D_
In order to satisfy India’s operational needs and move closer to its goal of self-sufficiency in the defense industry, sensors, command and control, and local maintenance must be indigenized._x000D_

The established system is capable of precisely identifying, tracking, and neutralizing agile targets in both open operational theaters and heavily populated urban settings._x000D_
The Helma-P has already been used in real-world situations, such as the Paris 2024 Olympics, proving its usefulness in a high-profile security setting._x000D_
It can neutralize threats through optical jamming or physical destruction and has an extended engagement range of 1.7 kilometers (0.62-4.34 miles)._x000D_
The system’s effects are delivered silently and with a very little visible footprint, and it does not use ammunition, which means there are no firing expenses per engagement._x000D_
Besides unmanned aerial vehicles, Helma-P is capable of neutralizing robots, radars, improvised explosive devices, rockets, artillery, and mortars._x000D_
