India is advancing plans for a carrier-capable Naval Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (NUCAV) aimed at expanding the operational reach of its naval aviation forces. Derived from technologies developed under the indigenous Ghatak program, the stealth drone will be capable of conducting strike missions, reconnaissance, self-defense operations, and aerial refueling. The initiative reflects India’s growing focus on integrating autonomous systems into future carrier battle groups and enhancing maritime combat effectiveness.
