As laser-guided weapons increasingly dominate the battlefield, KWESST is stepping in with technology designed to counter these hidden threats. The Canadian defense company has secured a contract to provide prototypes of its advanced Battlefield Laser Detection System (BLDS) to a major North American armored vehicle program.
This milestone marks a significant move toward full-scale deployment. The BLDS is engineered to immediately alert military personnel when they are being targeted by laser-based systems such as range finders, beam-riding munitions, or laser designators—helping forces respond before it’s too late.
