Turkish defense firm Baykar Technology has announced a new milestone for its upgraded Bayraktar TB2T-AI drone, which recently achieved a record-breaking altitude in its class. During the test, the unmanned combat aerial vehicle reached 40,000 feet (12,192 meters), setting a benchmark for indigenous drone technology.

The UCAV demonstrated impressive performance, recording speeds of up to 160 knots (300 km/h) while ascending rapidly to 30,000 feet (9,144 meters) within just 30 minutes. This quick climb rate highlights the drone’s enhanced propulsion and aerodynamic improvements.

According to Baykar, the drone sustained a maximum altitude of 40,023 feet (12,199 meters), surpassing its previous record of 37,096 feet (11,306 meters). While details about the overall flight duration remain undisclosed, the achievement underscores Turkey’s growing capabilities in unmanned aerial systems.

This milestone further strengthens the Bayraktar’s reputation as a formidable indigenous UCAV, enhancing its standing both in domestic operations and potential global markets.
