Serbia has unveiled its armed PEGASUS unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), a significant advancement in the country’s military capabilities, integrating precision strike potential into the platform originally designed for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions. The announcement was made at the Partner 2025 defense exhibition in Belgrade, showcasing Belgrade’s effort to modernize its unmanned combat fleet.

The PEGASUS UAV boasts a maximum payload capacity of 54 kilograms (119 pounds) and a maximum takeoff weight of 265 kilograms (584 pounds), making it a versatile asset for various battlefield roles. It features a range exceeding 200 kilometers (124 miles) and endurance of up to 10 hours, enabling prolonged operations beyond visual line of sight. The UAV also offers fully autonomous takeoff and landing capabilities and an integrated rescue-and-return system to enhance mission reliability.

In addition to ISR tasks, PEGASUS has been equipped with the Emirati-made RASH-2M guided munition kit, transforming it into an effective precision strike weapon capable of engaging ground targets with accuracy. The combined system provides a modular and scalable solution including three UAVs, transport containers, ground control stations, and logistical support equipment.

This strategic upgrade demonstrates Serbia’s commitment to blending long-endurance surveillance with light attack capabilities, closing the sensor-to-shooter gap and enhancing regional deterrence in a complex security environment.
