India has finalized a significant procurement order for ideaForge’s latest generation of unmanned aerial systems after evaluating them in demanding electronic-warfare and high-altitude scenarios. The deal, classified under capital emergency procurement, is valued at approximately 1 billion rupees ($11.3 million) and underscores the military’s growing emphasis on resilient ISR capabilities. ideaForge confirmed that the order includes the advanced Zolt tactical UAV and the upgraded SWITCH 2 vertical-takeoff drone.
According to company officials, the Zolt platform alone represents nearly 750 million rupees ($8.5 million) of the order. Its selection followed rigorous field tests conducted in regions prone to GPS jamming, communication interference, and extreme terrain. The SWITCH 2 UAV—already operational with the Indian Army—received a supplementary order worth 300 million rupees ($3.39 million), reinforcing its role in ongoing deployments.
The procurement is seen not as a routine replenishment but as part of India’s broader move to strengthen surveillance, target acquisition, and precision-delivery systems along sensitive borders. Zolt’s mission profile supports this shift, offering long-range ISR, real-time intelligence streaming, and payload support for precision missions.
ideaForge continues to expand its footprint within India’s defense and internal security sectors. Earlier, in June 2025, the firm secured a 1.37-billion-rupee emergency order for mini VTOL drones, to be delivered within a year. Beyond military roles, ideaForge systems are used by NDRF, state police forces, and infrastructure agencies for mapping, disaster relief, and critical asset monitoring.
