Rheinmetall has received a contract valued at more than €500 million to provide 149 mobile medical support stations to the German Armed Forces. The agreement is part of a framework contract established in December 2024 and increases Germany’s total order to 165 systems, bringing the overall program value above €600 million. The package includes operator training and options for additional vehicles. Production is expected to begin during the first quarter of 2027, with deliveries continuing through 2029 as the Bundeswehr replaces older medical equipment. Rheinmetall’s Project Solutions division will oversee the program, making it the company’s largest contract in this area to date. The systems are being developed under Germany’s Modular Medical Facilities concept, which is designed to provide flexible medical capabilities close to frontline units and during crisis situations. Of the ordered vehicles, 112 will receive ballistic protection, while others will use standard configurations. The mobile stations are designed to provide NATO Level 1 emergency medical care, including immediate treatment and stabilization. Each system uses two expandable containers that can be rapidly assembled or dismantled by a small military team. Independent generators and climate-control systems allow the units to operate for several days in difficult environments. Modular interior fittings provide an emergency treatment area and additional spaces for patient care.
