Canada is significantly expanding its armored vehicle capabilities through a major agreement with GDLS-Canada that will strengthen the Canadian Army’s future battlefield mobility. The nearly CAD $2 billion contract will deliver 190 additional Armored Combat Support Vehicles while also supporting Canada’s commitment to provide 35 vehicles to Ukraine.The agreement represents more than a vehicle purchase, creating a long-term partnership focused on modernization, technology development, and fleet sustainability. Canada aims to ensure its armored vehicle fleet remains prepared for future security challenges by integrating new capabilities and improving operational flexibility.Based on the proven LAV 6.0 platform, the ACSV fleet will replace older armored vehicles and provide multiple mission-specific configurations. From medical evacuation and troop transport to electronic warfare and engineering operations, the vehicles are designed to support a wide range of military requirements both domestically and internationally.
