Rheinmetall has signed an agreement with Greece’s Hellenic Vehicles Industries (ELVO) to assemble military logistics trucks and specialized defense systems domestically in Thessaloniki. The partnership will focus on producing high-mobility tactical vehicles for the Greek Army, Navy, and Air Force while integrating advanced mission systems such as air-defense superstructures onto vehicle platforms. Rheinmetall’s extensive portfolio ranges from 4×4 to 10×10 military trucks optimized for off-road mobility and operational flexibility. By leveraging ELVO’s local industrial base, the initiative aims to reduce Greek dependence on imports, expand sovereign manufacturing capabilities, and strengthen the national defense-industrial ecosystem. The project is also expected to create skilled jobs and support regional supply chains. The agreement follows Rheinmetall’s broader 2026 strategy of expanding industrial partnerships across Europe, including programs in Spain, Australia, and Germany.
