Thailand has introduced new 8×8 amphibious wheeled armored vehicles (AWAVs) to enhance operational readiness along its eastern borders. These vehicles are designed for multi-role missions, including emergency response, border security, and sovereignty protection. Their amphibious capability allows seamless transition between land and water operations, especially when deployed alongside Royal Thai Navy landing platform dock vessels. This integration strengthens Thailand’s ability to conduct coordinated amphibious missions and respond effectively to both conventional and asymmetric threats.
