The US State Department has approved a $30.6 million sale of Assault Amphibious Vehicles (AAVs) to Italy, including command and recovery variants. Drawn from former US Marine Corps inventories, the vehicles will improve Italy’s expeditionary and amphibious warfare capabilities. The tracked platforms are capable of transporting more than 20 troops while operating seamlessly between land and water environments. Additional support equipment, camouflage systems, and logistics packages are included to ensure operational effectiveness and sustainment.
