Czech defense company CSG is reportedly seeking to acquire a stake in Franco-German armored vehicle producer KNDS, according to Reuters. The discussions involve German family shareholders who jointly control KNDS alongside the French government following the merger of Krauss-Maffei Wegmann and Nexter. Reports suggest the shareholders are prioritizing a future stock market listing and possible German government investment rather than an immediate private sale. KNDS, known for platforms such as the Leopard tank and Caesar artillery system, could reportedly reach a valuation of around 20 billion euros in a future IPO. The reported move comes amid accelerating consolidation across the European defense industry as companies pursue acquisitions, partnerships, and industrial expansion to meet rising defense demand and modernization requirements.
