Renault Group and Thales have entered into a strategic partnership to develop and manufacture the Toutatis loitering munition on an industrial scale. By combining Thales’ expertise in defense technologies with Renault’s high-volume production capabilities, the collaboration aims to significantly expand France’s sovereign drone manufacturing capacity. The initiative reflects broader European efforts to strengthen domestic defense industries, reduce dependence on foreign suppliers, and accelerate the fielding of modern unmanned combat systems.
