US defense technology company Palladyne AI and Ukrainian-Estonian drone developer NORDA Dynamics have entered into a collaboration focused on combining autonomous drone swarm management with advanced terminal guidance capabilities. The partnership will integrate Palladyne’s SwarmOS software with NORDA’s Underdog Autonomy Module. The combined architecture is intended to allow groups of drones to independently identify, monitor, assign, and pursue targets.A major objective is to maintain autonomous functionality in environments where GPS and communications may be degraded or denied by electronic warfare. By reducing reliance on external navigation and communication links, the companies aim to improve the resilience and effectiveness of unmanned systems operating in contested environments.
