Ukrainian defense technology firm General Cherry has introduced AIR SPEED, a new high-speed counter-drone interceptor designed to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense against unmanned aerial threats. Built for speed, agility, and precision, the lightweight system is already being deployed across multiple frontlines, according to the company.

The AIR SPEED interceptor can reach a top speed of 236 kilometers per hour (147 mph), enabling it to overtake and engage many fast-moving enemy drones. Its 8-inch (20.3-centimeter) frame keeps the platform compact while enhancing maneuverability and in-flight responsiveness during high-speed interception missions.

Designed for operational versatility, AIR SPEED is capable of neutralizing a broad range of aerial threats, including one-way attack drones, commercial quadcopters, and tactical reconnaissance UAVs. The interceptor is also optimized to counter fixed-wing surveillance platforms such as ZALA, Supercam, Eagles, as well as Lancet-type loitering munitions, which have been widely used in the conflict.

General Cherry stated that the system has already demonstrated effectiveness against both reconnaissance and strike drones in active combat zones. AIR SPEED complements the company’s existing interceptor lineup, which includes the BULLET system, developed to counter Shahed-type drones, and the AIR Pro interceptor, which features a larger 10-inch (25-centimeter) frame.

The company confirmed that AIR SPEED is now available through Brave1, Ukraine’s centralized defense technology procurement platform, allowing rapid adoption by military units seeking enhanced counter-UAV capabilities.
