Ukrainian company Vluchnyk has introduced the Zorelit v5, a jet-powered interceptor intended to engage Russian kamikaze and reconnaissance UAVs. The system incorporates AI-based target detection that identifies an intended target during the final phase of an interception. Zorelit v5 is also designed to operate with Ukraine’s SkyMap command-and-control software. The software calculates suitable flight paths by considering the target’s trajectory and the interceptor’s remaining battery power. The combination of onboard target recognition and route planning is intended to improve the interceptor’s ability to engage hostile drones efficiently.
