AEVEX Aerospace is expanding its autonomous warfare portfolio with Specter, a new one-way attack drone built around a modular jet-powered design. The platform incorporates a software-defined architecture that allows it to accommodate different payloads and produce a variety of mission effects. Its planned capabilities include kinetic and non-kinetic effects, electronic warfare, and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance functions. Specter uses a turbojet propulsion system and is being developed in both ground-launched and air-launched configurations. The two variants are intended to give operators greater flexibility in selecting how the unmanned system is deployed for different operational requirements.
