The Hellenic Navy has acquired Schiebel’s Camcopter S-100 unmanned air systems for deployment aboard its new FDI frigates, beginning with HS Kimon. Additional systems will equip HS Nearchos and Formion, while one unit will support land-based training. The S-100 features vertical takeoff and landing capability, 200-kilometer data-link range, autonomous GPS navigation, and advanced sensors including the Wescam MX-10 EO/IR and PT-8 Oceanwatch system. It will support maritime surveillance, search and rescue, EEZ patrols, and anti-submarine warfare missions.
