Boeing has secured a contract exceeding $100 million to produce additional GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrators (MOP) for the U.S. Air Force. The acquisition follows the operational use of the weapon during Operation Midnight Hammer, when United States Air Force B-2 Spirit bombers deployed 14 MOPs against hardened Iranian nuclear facilities. The 30,000-pound GPS-guided bunker-buster is uniquely produced by Boeing, justifying a sole-source award. Production will conclude after this order as the Pentagon transitions to the Next-Generation Penetrator (NGP) program.
